Scoring
- Return % = profit during the competition ÷ starting balance. Starting balance is your balance at the moment the competition starts, or your first deposit if you deposit after it started. Everything before the start is ignored, so every trader starts at 0%.
- Deposits and withdrawals are excluded from performance.
- Only trades opened and closed inside the competition window count.
- Manual trading only for now. Trades opened by an Expert Advisor (EA) or other automation are detected from the trade data, shown as such, and left out of your statistics and ranking.
- At least 10 closed trades. Each trade must be held at least 10 seconds and be between 0.01 and 100 lots.
- Ties break on return, then trade count.
Entering
- A new account, opened through our link. To enter, the broker account must be a NEW live account that you opened with one of our partner brokers through a ForexTradingCup link, after you first used that link. Accounts you already held, or opened through someone else’s link, can still be connected for your journal and statistics but cannot enter. We check this against our partner data and the date your account was opened, normally within a day; some brokers are checked by hand.
- What the check uses. Your broker account number, the date the account was registered and whether it was opened through our link, as reported by our partner programme, plus the time you first clicked our link. Nothing else about you is read from it.
- Each broker account can qualify once, for one person, for good. Removing or reconnecting it does not make it qualify again for someone else, and a broker account used by another entrant cannot be used by you.
- One account per person per month, one person per broker account.
- Entries for November 2026 close on 1 December at 00:00 UTC. Later entries count for the next competition.
- Connect your account with its password. We only read your account and never place or change trades.
- Joining and connecting are free. Opening the broker account is free; any deposit is between you and the broker and is not required by these rules.
Prizes
- 1st: $10,000
- 2nd: $5,000
- 3rd: $2,500
- 4th to 10th: $1,000 each
Paid within 14 days of month close, or of passing the identity check if that comes later. Winners of prizes of $1,000 or more must pass identity verification first.
Disqualification
We may disqualify entrants for hedging against other entrants, latency or price-feed abuse, copying signals to inflate results, multiple accounts, bonus or credit manipulation, or any attempt to manipulate the contest. Our decision is final.
Season prizes and free draw
Coming soon: the prize pool is being arranged. No giveaway is open for entries yet.
- Eligibility. You must be 18 or older and not be an employee of the operator or a member of their household. Entry is void where the law prohibits it, and people in any country where such a giveaway is prohibited may not win.
- No purchase or deposit needed. Entering and winning never depend on buying anything, depositing money or trading with a particular broker. Opening an account at a partner broker is optional and gives no extra entries.
- Free entry. Make a free account, or use the free entry form without an account. One free entry per person and email address. An account and a free entry with the same email count once.
- Who is in the draw. Everyone who made a free entry before entries closed, and every account that has a confirmed email address and was created before entries closed. Suspended accounts and organiser or staff accounts are not entered. Entries close on the draw date, or earlier if the organisers stop entries or hold the draw early; the cut-off is recorded in the audit log. Creating an account requires confirming that you are 18 or older and accept these rules.
- Draw entries. 1 for an account, +1 per active connected broker account (each counted once, up to 5), +2 per closed month in which you are ranked, +1 per invited trader who connects an account (up to 10).
- Staff. The organiser, its staff and the accounts it marks as staff do not take part in the draw and cannot win skill prizes. The number excluded is published with the draw.
- How winners are chosen (draw). After the draw date, management runs one draw. Winners are picked with a secure random number generator, weighted by entries and without replacement, so a person wins at most one draw prize. The whole ordered list, a snapshot of the entry pool and their SHA-256 digests are stored and shown on the giveaway page after the draw. The draw is only run once the prizes are recorded as fully funded, unless management records a written reason for going ahead sooner, which is logged.
- How winners are chosen (skill). Your returns in the closed months of the season are compounded. You must be ranked in at least 2 of the season months. Traders removed from a month's leaderboard for breaking the rules are not eligible. Ties are decided by the number of ranked months, then by the earlier sign-up. The prizes go in the order of the table above.
- Claiming and forfeit. A winner is contacted using the email on the account or entry and has 14 days from that message to reply and send the details asked for. A prize not claimed in time, or declined, is forfeited and passes to the next eligible name on the stored list (the draw order, or the skill ranking). Nothing is re-rolled and no one is picked by hand. We never ask a winner for a payment, deposit, tax or fee.
- ID check. Winners of prizes of $1,000 or more must pass an identity check before payment or delivery, and may be asked for proof of age and country. If you cannot be verified, the prize may be withdrawn.
- Payment and delivery. Cash prizes are paid by bank transfer to an account in the winner's own name within 14 days of verification. Winners are responsible for any taxes, customs duties and travel documents.
- Winners shown. If you win, your name may be shown on the giveaway page in a shortened form (first name and initial, or the first letters of an account name). Winners are listed as soon as they are drawn and marked confirmed once they have passed any ID check.
- Where prohibited. The giveaway is not offered, and entries are void, where it would be unlawful. We can refuse entries from any country.
