What we collect
- Account data: email, trader name, optional country, hashed password.
- Broker data: broker server name, account login number and your closed trades and balance operations.
- Basic technical data such as IP address for abuse prevention and rate limiting.
Where your results come from
Your results are read from your broker, not typed in by you. We connect with your account password through our broker-data provider (MetaApi), which returns your closed trades and balance operations. We keep those trades only while the account stays connected: disconnecting an account deletes its trades and competition entries immediately. We never store the password you connect with.
Checking that an account is new
To enter a competition your broker account must be new and opened through our partner link. We check this by asking our affiliate partner data (Flowtracker, or the broker’s affiliate reporting) about your account number only, and compare the registration date it returns with the time you first clicked our link. We store the result, the date, a reference to the partner record and the sub-id of your click. We do not read or store your name, email, address or documents from the partner data. Once a broker account has qualified we keep a record of its broker and account number so it cannot be used for a second entrant, even after you disconnect it; deleting your account does not release it.
Broker passwords
We ask for your account password. It is sent once to our broker-data provider (MetaApi) to open the connection and is not stored by us. We only read your closed trades and balance; we never place or change trades and we do not use the password for anything else. If you prefer, use your broker’s investor (read-only) password if it gives you one: it works the same way.
Who processes your data
MetaApi (broker connectivity), our hosting and database providers, and an email delivery provider. Public leaderboards show your trader name, optional country, return, win rate and trade count only.
Cookies and browser storage
We set two cookies, both on our own domain, neither for advertising or tracking across other sites:
- twc_sid: keeps you signed in. Set when you sign up or log in, removed when you log out, and expires after 30 days. Strictly necessary, HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, Secure.
- twc_ref: if you arrive through a friend's referral link, it remembers that friend's public referral code for up to 30 days so they can be credited when you sign up. Only the first link is kept. It is removed once you sign up. HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax, Secure.
Your browser's local storage also holds a copy of that referral code (twc_ref, until you clear it) as a backup, plus small preferences for the app: whether you dismissed the install prompt and what you last saw in alerts. These never leave your device. The app also registers a service worker so it can be installed on your device and show notifications you allow. You can clear all of this in your browser settings at any time; the only effect is that you are signed out or your referrer is forgotten. We run no analytics or advertising cookies.
Retention and deletion
Disconnecting an account deletes its synced trades and competition entries immediately. Final results of closed months keep your trader name and numbers as a public record. Email us to delete your account.

Depending on where you live you may access, correct, export or delete your data, or object to processing. Contact support@forextradingcup.com.
